Trainee / Junior Independent Financial Adviser (IFA)

Location: Norwich, Norfolk
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000+ (DOE)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Hybrid

We are working with a fast-growing, well-established independent wealth management firm that is expanding its adviser team and is now looking to appoint Trainee / Junior Independent Financial Advisers as part of a structured growth programme.

This is a genuine career-path role, ideal for diploma-qualified individuals or those coming from paraplanning or senior support positions who are looking to step into advice with strong training, mentoring, and long-term progression.

About the Opportunity

The business has grown significantly in recent years and now employs c.55 advisers nationwide, with plans to add around 10 advisers this year through planned intake cohorts rather than replacement hires.

The next major intake is scheduled for July, and this role will be based from the firm’s Norwich office, supporting clients across the Essex area.

The Role

As a Trainee / Junior Adviser, you will join a structured 12-month Adviser Development Programme, designed to take you from supported adviser to fully competent, client-facing IFA.

You will:

  • Work closely with experienced advisers in a pod-based structure
  • Attend client meetings and gradually take responsibility for your own client relationships
  • Be supported through compliance sign-off (typically achieved within ~8 months)
  • Develop strong technical and relationship-management skills

New advisers complete two weeks of initial training in Norwich (travel and accommodation fully paid), followed by a hybrid working pattern once embedded.

Training & Development

  • Structured 12-month adviser programme
  • Strong mentoring, coaching, and role-play/assessment stages
  • Compliance and competence sign-off typically achieved within the first year
  • Hybrid working once established (office presence higher in year one for support)
  • Long-term career development within a growing national firm

Package & Earnings

  • £35,000 – £60,000 base salary (dependent on experience)
  • Bonus structure:
    • Validation: 4x
    • 40% bonus on income generated above validation
    • Bonuses typically begin from year two
  • Salary progression aligned to performance and AUM growth

What They’re Looking For

  • Diploma-qualified advisers or strongly progressing candidates (e.g. paraplanners or senior support professionals)
  • Desire for a long-term advisory career with structured development
  • Open-minded, coachable individuals (not set in rigid ways of working)
  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset
  • Willingness to engage fully in training and early office-based learning

Why Join

  • Clear, structured route into advice
  • Growing firm with a strong national footprint
  • Planned intake cohorts and long-term adviser investment
  • Supportive culture with strong training and onboarding
  • Hybrid flexibility once established

If you’re looking to step into advice with a firm that invests properly in its people, offers a clear career path, and is growing by design rather than chance, this is an excellent opportunity.
