Are you an experienced paraplanner or IFA support professional ready to take the next step into a full trainee adviser pathway? This is an exceptional opportunity to join a respected, long?established financial planning firm in the City and train directly under a highly experienced adviser with 15+ years in the business.
About the Role
This is a structured, fully supported Trainee Financial Adviser / IFA position where you will:
- Work directly alongside and shadow a senior adviser throughout the advice process
- Begin by supporting their client portfolio (initially in a paraplanning capacity)
- Progress into client-facing duties as your confidence and competence grow
- Receive hands?on training from multiple advisers who’ve been through the same pathway
- Aim to become CAS signed?off within 18–24 months

What You’ll Be Doing
- Shadow adviser meetings and learn the full advice process end?to?end
- Prepare reports, research, cashflow data, suitability letters and recommendations
- Conduct detailed financial planning analysis across pensions, investments and protection
- Support the transition of client accounts passed down between generations
- Build confidence with client communication and eventually lead your own meetings
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance standards are met
- Collaborate with a team of advisers who support trainee development
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
Essential:
- At least 4 years’ experience in financial services, including
- 2+ years paraplanning or adviser?support experience
- Strong understanding of admin, paraplanning, research and suitability report writing
- Part?qualified toward Level 4 Diploma (or above)
- A genuine desire to become a fully fledged financial adviser
- Confident, articulate communication and strong relationship?building skills
- Ability to learn quickly, work closely with senior advisers and handle client?sensitive matters professionally
Preferred:
- Progress on R0 exams
- Experience supporting advisers within a wealth management setting
