Paraplanner
Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Work Pattern: Full-time, Hybrid Working (1-2 Days Office Based)
Salary: Up to £50,000 (Negotiable for the Right Candidate) + Excellent Work-Life Balance
Are you a technically strong Paraplanner looking to join a genuinely boutique independent financial planning firm where your work will have a direct impact?
We are working with a highly regarded independent financial advice firm based in Aylesbury that is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to support two established advisers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit team where you’ll enjoy a broad and varied role, significant autonomy, and flexible hybrid working.
The Opportunity
This is not a role where you’ll be siloed into one part of the advice process. Instead, you’ll be involved in the full client journey, providing comprehensive paraplanning support and acting as a key technical resource for the advisers.
As the sole Paraplanner supporting the advisory team, you’ll be trusted to manage your workload independently while playing a central role in delivering high-quality financial planning advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing suitability reports and recommendations
- Conducting fund, platform and provider research
- Producing illustrations and technical analysis
- Gathering client information and managing letters of authority
- Preparing meeting packs and agendas
- Assisting with diary and meeting management
- Liaising closely with advisers on planning strategies and recommendations
- Ensuring work is completed in line with compliance requirements
- Supporting the end-to-end financial planning process
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Paraplanner who is comfortable working in a small-business environment and can confidently take ownership of the technical side of the advice process.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or working towards)
- Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and protection
- Experience producing suitability reports and conducting research
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Excellent written communication skills
- A proactive, organised and adaptable approach
Candidates without the Diploma will still be considered if they possess significant paraplanning experience and strong technical capability.
What’s on Offer?
- Salary up to £50,000 for Diploma-qualified candidates
- Potential flexibility above this level for exceptional candidates
- Hybrid working with typically 1-2 days per week in the office
- Flexible approach to office attendance
- Friendly, boutique IFA environment
- Direct access to advisers and decision-makers
- Broad, varied and technically challenging workload
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays
- Additional two-week office closure over Christmas (on top of holiday entitlement)
- Company pension scheme
Why Apply?
This role would suit an experienced Paraplanner who enjoys being heavily involved in the financial planning process and values flexibility, autonomy and a supportive team culture over the structure of a large corporate environment.
If you’re looking for a long-term opportunity with a respected boutique IFA firm where your contribution will genuinely be valued, we’d love to hear from you.
